Mr Morrison is a member of The American Academy of Ophthalmology and has recently been elected to join The American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. He is a regular attendee at the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society. He is a medical advisor to the Eyeless Trust, a charity that supports children born with severe congenital eye abnormalities. He has many publications and international presentations in paediatric ophthalmology, oculoplastics and ocular genetics. He has appeared several times on BBC Television’s City Hospital, where he performed squint and oculoplastic surgery.

Mr Morrison regularly reviews academic and research articles for the leading journals Archives of Ophthalmology, The British Journal of Ophthalmology, and Eye.

Mr Morrison is currently the Chairman and Organiser of The Annual St. Thomas’ Trends in Ophthalmology Meeting

Mr Morrison has appeared in Court as an Expert Witness, and prepares medical-legal reports. He has an interest and expertise in eye-related Non-Accidental Injury and the Shaken Baby Syndrome.

Guy’s and St. Thomas’ has a recently established link with the Public Hospital in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. In May 2008, Mr Morrison visited and taught squint and ophthalmic plastic surgery to local doctors and specialists. The team is due to return to Tanzania in 2011.
